   Aug 04,  · Like SM, "Kentucky Rain" was released as a mono 45 (in February, ) & then had its first LP appearance on Worldwide 50 Gold Award Hits (in August of that year). In the stereo version I hear on the 60's box & Elvis 75, the strings make an appearance right at the beginning of the song.

   Closing Night A new import release by the Graceland Records label is the CD entitled "Closing Night" with a soundboard recording of Elvis' February 23, slosing show. The CD, from the label that previously released “Elvis’ Second Night" in , comes with a 16 pages booklet.

   "Kentucky Rain" didn't make the cut for either album, but was added to the re-release of From Elvis In Memphis. Its first appearance on an album was the compilation Worldwide 50 Gold Award Hits Vol. 1. This features Ronnie Milsap on piano (he recalled Presley telling him, "More thunder on the piano, Milsap!").

   After their excellent "On Stage" multi-track Classic album, FTD now continues their look at this excellent season with the first official release of Elvis' Opening and Closing night performances. ‘King Elvis Rules Vegas Again’ - in February , I went back to Las Vegas to catch Elvis Presley's show again.
