Sep 22,  · Gallows Pole, IMO. The first two minutes is a masterpiece of controlled tension. Still play the full LP once every couple of months or so. Love the crazy revolving psychedelic sleeve. there is perhaps no better promotional line than the one used in ads for "Led Zeppelin III" After you play the album, play the cover. If I Can Dream_

Purchasing the remaster of any Led Zeppelin album is a huge mistake. I have recently made this mistake with a Led Zeppelin III replacement CD purchased in a hurry. The remaster from the original tapes by Jimmy Page and George Marino at Sterling Sound is the far, far, far superior Led Zeppelin III /5(25).

Overall though, the CD package does not come close to the high quality of my old (and dearly departed) vinyl LP. Unfortunately, Led Zeppelin III does not receive the acclaim of albums such as II () and IV (), which is too bad. It seems to me that this excellent album would offer a lot to the Led Zeppelin fan; both casual and hardcore alike/5().

On their first two albums, Led Zeppelin unleashed a relentless barrage of heavy blues and rockabilly riffs, but Led Zeppelin III provided the band with the necessary room to grow musically. While there are still a handful of metallic rockers, III is built on a folky, acoustic foundation that gives the music extra depth. And even the rockers aren't as straightforward as before: the galloping.

The total playing time covered three sides of an LP, so they decided to expand it into a double by including previously unreleased tracks from the sessions for the earlier albums Led Zeppelin III, Led Zeppelin IV and Houses of the Holy. The album covered a range of styles including hard rock, progressive rock, rock 'n' roll and folk/5().
